About me: I am a mother of two young children who have further helped shape my clinical role as a pediatric occupational and feeding therapist. I have experienced first hand what it is like to have your Postpartum Plan NOT go as expected. No one talks about the 4th trimester. Are babies really supposed to learn how to breastfeed in 2 days before being discharged home? My first born would not latch, had reflux, constipation from dairy intolerance, and had to be on medications. I had to be on an exclusion diet and I had to bottle feed my babies at times. I have been there. I have felt your sadness, your pain, your despair and your inability to cope. I am a mom who has been there. TWICE.
Experience: I am the Owner and President of The Feeding Team. I am a Board certified Pediatric Occupational Therapist specializing in feeding and swallowing. I am also a certified Infant Massage Instructor.
I have worked for renowned, top 20 hospitals and clinics across the country including Cedars Sinai in Los Angeles, CA and Mercy Kids and St. Louis Children's hospital in St. Louis, MO. I am familiar with a collaborative team approach including working with surgeons, neonatologists, pediatricians, specialists including dentists and GI specialists, dietitians, lactation consultants, and social workers. I am a member of AOTA (American Occupational Therapy Association) and National Association of Neonatal Therapists (NANT).
Patient population served: Practicing since 2003, I have experience in a variety of pediatric clinical settings, including in-home occupational therapy and feeding services, inpatient hospital and clinic based therapy addressing the needs of medically fragile infants, toddlers and young school aged children.
